Show Kennels Breed for Quality
While it is true that you may find a nice breeder in your neighborhood that is selling puppies
for rock-bottom prices, you need to consider the background of the breeding stock. Show
breeders are not the only ones who care about quality, but if the breeder is actively showing
their dogs, they are striving for perfection. A reputable breeder will not breed any dog that
has a genetic disorder. They are concerned about the health of the next generations. Most
show people are in it for the long term. They frequently charge more for their puppies, but
they also have a lot more invested in them. They really know their stuff, and this knowledge
is invaluable to you, the new puppy owner. Good breeders are more than happy to help you
with any questions that arise when you get a new puppy.
You should also know that having "papers" for a dog is not an assurance of quality.
